San Marcos is a town and municipality located in the Sucre Department, northern Colombia. It is also called "La Perla del San Jorge," which means "The Pearl of San Jorge." This name comes from its location near the San Jorge River.

As of 2020, about 60,735 people live in San Marcos. More than half of these people live in the urban area of the town. The municipality covers an area of about 970 square kilometers (375 square miles).

There is no airport directly in the town of San Marcos.

Climate in San Marcos
