San Sebastián barrio-pueblo is a special area in San Sebastián, a town in Puerto Rico. It's like the main downtown part of the town. This area is the "administrative center," which means it's where the local government buildings are located. In 2010, about 1,424 people lived here.
In Puerto Rico, just like in Spain, many towns have a special area called a pueblo. This pueblo usually has a main square, the town hall, and a Catholic church. Every year, fun festivals called Fiestas patronales (which means "patron saint festivals") are held in this main square.
The Main Plaza and Church
The central plaza, or town square, is a lively spot for everyone. People gather here for fun events or just to hang out and chat from morning until night. Back in the early 1800s, Spanish laws called the Laws of the Indies said that these plazas should be big enough for celebrations. These laws also said that streets nearby should have covered walkways to protect people from the sun and rain.
Right across from the main plaza in San Sebastián barrio-pueblo, you'll find the Parroquia San Sebastián Mártir. This is a Roman Catholic church, an important part of the community.
Understanding Sectors
Barrios, which are like neighborhoods or districts, are often divided into even smaller areas. These smaller areas are called sectores (pronounced sek-TOH-res). The types of sectors can be different, like "urbanización" (a housing development) or "residencial" (a residential area).
San Sebastián barrio-pueblo has two smaller parts within it, called subbarrios: Norzagaray and Urréjola.

Historical Places
One interesting place in San Sebastián barrio-pueblo is the Antiguo Cementerio Municipal de San Sebastián, which means the old municipal cemetery of San Sebastián. It was first used in 1826 and officially opened in 1863. The cemetery was made bigger during a time when there was a serious health issue called a cholera outbreak in Puerto Rico, starting in 1855.
