San Sebastián de Buenavista is a town and a municipality in Colombia. It is located in the Magdalena Department. The town was founded in 1748 by Fernando de Mier y Guerra. Its first name was San Sebastián de Melchiquejo. Later, on November 15, 1957, its name was changed. It also officially became a municipality on that date.
