Sander Sagosen was born on September 14, 1995. He is a professional handball player from Norway. He plays for Aalborg Håndbold and the Norwegian national team.
Sander has won many important titles with different clubs. These include league championships in Norway, Denmark, France, and Germany. With the national team, he helped Norway finish second at the World Championship in 2017 and 2019. They also came in third at the 2020 European Championship. Sander was chosen for the All-Star team in five big international competitions in a row. He was recognized as either the best centre back or left back.

Sander Sagosen's Club Career
Sander Sagosen started his professional handball journey in 2012. He played for Kolstad Håndball at that time. The next year, he moved to Haslum Håndballklubb.
Playing in Denmark
In 2014, Sander signed a three-year contract with the Danish club Aalborg Håndbold. He won the Danish League with them in 2017. Sander has said that these years were some of the best in his career.
Playing in France
After his time in Denmark, Sander moved to France in 2017. He joined Paris Saint-Germain. With this club, he won the French championship three years in a row. He also won the French Cup in 2018.
Playing in Germany
In 2020, Sander joined the German team THW Kiel. He won the EHF Champions League with them in 2020. The final matches for this tournament were played in December 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Sander scored seven goals in the final game against FC Barcelona Handbol. He also won the German Championship in 2021 and 2023.
Return to Norway and Denmark
In 2023, Sander returned to Norway to play for Kolstad Håndball. He played there until February 2025. His goal was to help Kolstad reach the EHF Champions League.
In February 2025, Sander signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with Aalborg Håndbold in Denmark. He mentioned wanting to focus more on handball there. Just three days after signing, he won the Danish Cup. His team beat Bjerringbro-Silkeborg in the final. Later in the same season, he also won the Danish championship.
Sander Sagosen's International Career
Sander Sagosen played his first game for the Norwegian national team in 2013. This game was against Croatia during the Bring Cup. His first big international tournament was the 2014 European Championship in Denmark.
Key Achievements with Norway
At the 2016 European Championship, Norway finished fourth. Sander was chosen for the All-Star team as the best centre back. In the 2017 World Championship, Norway came in second place. Sander was again on the All-Star team, this time as the best left back.
Norway finished seventh at the 2018 European Championship. Sander was once more voted the best centre back. At the 2019 World Championship, Norway again finished second. Sander was included on the All-Star team as the best left back for the second time.
Norway placed third at the 2020 European Championship. Sander was the top scorer in this tournament with 65 goals. He was also on the All-Star team for the fifth major international tournament in a row.
Sander Sagosen's Personal Life
Sander Sagosen is married to Hanna Oftedal Sagosen. She was also a handball player. Their first child, a son named Noah, was born on July 13, 2023.
