Sanja Doležal, born on May 9, 1963, is a famous singer and TV host from Croatia. Many people know her best as a member of the popular pop band Novi fosili during the 1980s and early 1990s, when the band was super popular!
After her singing career, Sanja became a TV host. She had her own daily talk show called Sanja from 2004 to 2006 on RTL Televizija. On her show, she talked about everyday life and had both famous guests and regular people.
In 2010, she joined Ples sa zvijezdama, which is the Croatian version of Dancing with the Stars. This show aired on HRT 1. Later, in 2014, she hosted the morning talk show Dobro Jutro, Hrvatska on the same channel.
Today, Sanja hosts a cooking segment called Kuhanje je IN on the show IN Magazin, which you can watch on Nova TV. She also performs in the Croatian version of the musical Menopause.

Sanja's Early Life and Career
As a child, Sanja Doležal appeared in commercials for baby food brands like Medolino and Frutolino. She also practiced karate.
In 1981, she joined a pop-rock band from Zagreb called "First Love." This was the first teen band in the former Yugoslavia. With "First Love," she recorded two albums: Private in 1981 and If we remain alone in 1982.
Joining Novi fosili
In 1983, Sanja joined the pop band Novi fosili. This band was formed way back in 1969. Sanja became their new singer, replacing Đurđica Barlović.
Sanja stayed with Novi fosili until 1991. She then rejoined them in 2005. With Sanja as their singer, the band released seven albums. They became one of the most popular pop groups in Yugoslavia. They sold hundreds of thousands of records and performed for huge crowds.
Eurovision Song Contest
At the height of their fame, Novi fosili represented Yugoslavia in the Eurovision Song Contest 1987. This happened on Sanja's 24th birthday! They performed the song Ja sam za ples (which means I Wanna Dance). The band finished in fourth place with 92 points.
After leaving the band in 1991, Sanja played a celebrity journalist in a fun music and comedy show called Je’l me netko tražio. This show aired on HRT.
She also recorded three solo albums, but they were not as successful as her work with Novi fosili. She stopped singing in the early 2000s.
