Sant Mori is a small town, also called a municipality, located in the comarca (a type of region) called Alt Empordà. It is found in the Girona area of Catalonia, Spain.
This charming town sits on the right side of the Fluvià river. It is surrounded by other towns: Sant Miquel de Fluvià to the north, Ventalló to the east, Saus to the south, and Palau de Santa Eulàlia to the west.
The people of Sant Mori mostly earn their living from farming (agriculture) and raising animals (animal husbandry). More recently, tourism has also become an important part of their economy.
Sant Mori has a long history! In the 15th century, it was known as a "barony," which meant it was ruled by a baron. Later, in 1893, it became a "marquisate," ruled by a marquis. A very important event happened here during a war: Queen Juana Enríquez and her son Ferdinand II of Aragon stayed in Sant Mori's castle. They even held a special meeting called the Parliament of the Corts Catalanes there in October 1466.
