Sant Pere Pescador is a small town in Catalonia, Spain. It's located in the Alt Empordà region, within the Province of Girona. This charming place sits right on the Fluvià river, near the beautiful Bay of Roses. It's also part of the famous Costa Brava coastline.
The town is known for its amazing sandy beach, which stretches for about 7 kilometers. Sant Pere Pescador has a long history. The first time it was mentioned in writing was in the year 974. Back then, it was owned by a monastery called Sant Pere de Rodes. The town also has a historic castle that was built in the 14th century.
Long ago, the land around Sant Pere Pescador was marshy. But in the 17th and 18th centuries, these wet areas were drained. This made the land perfect for farming, turning the area into an important agricultural center. Today, you can still see many orchards here. In more recent times, tourism has also become a very important part of the town's economy. Close by, you can explore the beautiful Aiguamolls de l’Empordà Natural Park.
