Santa Fe Place is a big indoor shopping center in Santa Fe, New Mexico. It used to be called Villa Linda Mall. It's one of two enclosed malls in Santa Fe. Santa Fe Place is the largest mall in Northern New Mexico. It's also the fourth largest mall in the whole state.

How It Started
The mall first opened its doors on July 31, 1985. It was built by a company called Herring Marathon Group. Back then, it was known as Villa Linda Mall.
Over the years, different companies owned the mall. In 2004, a company named Greenfield and Associates bought it. They spent about $10 million to make the mall look new. They even put on a new roof!
In November 2005, the mall had a big celebration. This was when it officially changed its name to Santa Fe Place.
Recent Changes
Today, Spinoso Real Estate Group helps manage and lease the stores in the mall. They also made big updates to the mall in 2014 and 2015.

Santa Fe Place has many different stores for you to explore. It has several main stores, called "anchor stores," that are usually very large.

Over the years, some stores have changed. For example, a movie theater called United Artists opened in 1991. Later, other stores like Cost Plus World Market and Bed Bath & Beyond opened in 2016. In 2017, popular clothing stores like H&M and Forever 21 also opened.

Fun at the Food Court
The mall's food court is a great place to grab a bite to eat. It used to be called El Mercado. It had 12 restaurants, an arcade, and even a movie theater!
After some changes, the food court was renamed The Market. It now has space for 6 restaurants. In 2020, the food court got another makeover. They even added a fun Ropes Course in the middle! There's also a new arcade called Rad Retrocade where the old Jets Arcade used to be.
