Santa Teresa National Park facts for kids
Santa Teresa National Park is a large park by the ocean in Rocha Department, Uruguay. It is a very important national park. The park is managed by the National Army of Uruguay. You can find it on the Atlantic coast, near Laguna Negra and just north of Punta del Diablo.
Inside the park, there are sandy beaches and a special area for animals. There is also a huge place for camping and a big greenhouse with many kinds of plants. You can also visit the old Fort of Santa Teresa. The army takes care of the whole park.
Exploring the Beaches
The park has several beautiful beaches along its coast. From one end to the other, you will find Playa de los Pesqueros and Playa del Barco. Some houses for military families are also at Playa del Barco. Further along are Playa Achiras and Playa La Moza. Between these two beaches, there is a hill where you can rent cabins to stay. The Fort area is located right behind this hill.
