Santiago Vernazza played as a forward and was known for scoring many goals. He played for several important clubs in both Argentina and Italy during his career. He passed away on November 12, 2017, at the age of 89.

Santiago Vernazza's Football Journey
Santiago Vernazza started his football career in Argentina. He played for Platense from 1947 to 1951. After that, he joined River Plate, one of Argentina's biggest clubs. He played for River Plate from 1951 to 1956. During his time there, he helped the team win several championships.
Playing in Italy
In 1956, Santiago Vernazza moved to Italy. He signed with Palermo, a team that had just been promoted to Serie A. Serie A is the top football league in Italy. Vernazza played four seasons for Palermo. He scored more than 50 goals for the club. He became one of the most important players in Palermo's history.
After Palermo, Vernazza played for A.C. Milan in the 1960-1961 season. With AC Milan, his team finished in second place in the league. In 1961, he moved to Vicenza, where he played for two more seasons. He retired from football in 1963 when he was 35 years old.
