Sarón was founded in 1876. It started at a busy road crossing thanks to a landowner named Antonio Saro y Galbán. He lived in a nearby place called La Abadilla. The town's name, Sarón, actually comes from his last name, Saro.
As of 2020, about 3,220 people live in Sarón. Slightly more than half, 50.7%, are boys and men, while 49.3% are girls and women.
A Look at Sarón's History
Sarón has some interesting historical spots. One of the oldest buildings still standing is the market. It was built in 1929 and has been a central part of the town for a long time.
The Famous Nestlé Factory
Just 2 kilometers away from Sarón, in the town of La Penilla, you can find a very important factory. This is where the famous Nestlé company has a factory. It was the first Nestlé factory to open in all of Spain, back in 1905!
