Sarah Lynne Marshall (born May 25, 1933 – died January 18, 2014) was a talented actress from Britain. She was known for her work in plays, movies, and TV shows. Sarah even received a special award nomination, called a Tony Award, for her acting in the play Goodbye Charlie.

Early Life and Family
Sarah Marshall was born in London, England. Her parents, Edna Best and Herbert Marshall, were both actors. This meant Sarah grew up in a family that loved performing! When Sarah was young, her parents divorced. She then moved to Los Angeles, California, with her mother.
Acting Career
Sarah Marshall began her acting career on Broadway in 1951. Broadway is a famous theater district in New York City. Her first role was in a play called Dream Girl.
She later won a special award called the Theatre World Award in 1956. This was for her role as Bonnie Dee Ponder in the play The Ponder Heart. In 1960, she was nominated for a Tony Award for her part in the play Goodbye Charlie. This is a very important award in theater.
TV Shows and Movies
Sarah Marshall also appeared in many popular television shows. She was in an episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents and The Twilight Zone. In The Twilight Zone, she played Ruth, a mother whose daughter gets lost.
During the 1960s, she acted in many other TV series. These included Star Trek, Perry Mason, and Get Smart. She also appeared in three episodes of Daniel Boone.
From the 1970s until just before she passed away, Sarah continued to act. She was in many TV shows and several films. Her last movie role was in Bad Blood...The Hunger in 2012.

On June 13, 1952, Sarah Marshall married Mel Bourne. He was a production designer, which means he helped create the look of movies and TV shows. They had one son named Timothy. Sarah and Mel later divorced in 1957.
In 1964, she married actor Carl Held. They stayed together for the rest of her life.
Later Years
Sarah Marshall passed away on January 18, 2014. She was 80 years old. She had been battling an illness.
