Sarah McIntyre is a talented British American artist and writer. She creates amazing children's books and comics that kids love. She studied art and illustration, and now she works from her studio in Bovey Tracey, Devon, England. She lives there with her husband, Stuart.
Sarah McIntyre has won many awards for her creative work. In 2010, her illustrations for Morris the Mankiest Monster won the Sheffield Children's Book Award. This book also won the Bishop's Stortford Picture Book Award. Later, in 2015, her book Oliver and the Seawigs, which she made with Philip Reeve, won the UKLA Book Award. Another book they created together, Pugs of the Frozen North, won the Independent Bookshop Week Book Award in 2016. Sarah also won the Leeds Graphic Novel Award in 2011 for her comic book Vern and Lettuce. She even had a comic strip called Shark & Unicorn that appeared in The Sunday Times newspaper for three years!
Sarah also works on other fun projects. She helped design a place called Monsterville at the Discover Children's Story Centre in Stratford, London. She also helped with their online StoryCloud project. In 2012, she organized a special event called The Comics Big-Top of Awesome at a festival in London. In 2015, Sarah started a campaign called #Pictures Mean Business. She wanted to make sure that illustrators who draw pictures for books get more recognition and credit for their important work. Because of her efforts, she was named one of the "Rising Stars" by The Bookseller magazine in 2016.
