Sarvis Point is a small, quiet place in southeastern Webster County, in the state of Missouri, USA. It's what we call an unincorporated community. This means it doesn't have its own local government, like a mayor or city council. Instead, it's managed by the county government. Sarvis Point is located right by the north side of Finley Creek, near County Road 321.

History of Sarvis Point

Sarvis Point has a cool history, even though it's a small place. A post office was opened here in 1869. Post offices were super important back then! They were the main way people sent letters and packages. This helped people stay connected with family and friends far away. The Sarvis Point post office served the community for many years. It finally closed down in 1909.

The name "Sarvis Point" comes from something special about the area. There were lots of sarvisberries growing near where the community started. Sarvisberries are also known as serviceberries or juneberries. They are small, sweet fruits that grow on bushes or small trees. People used to pick and eat them. It's neat how the name of a place can tell you something about its natural surroundings!
