Sauk people facts for kids
The Sac or Sauk people are a group of Native Americans. They are part of the Eastern Woodlands culture group. They first met the French in 1667. At that time, they mostly lived near what is now Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Today, the Sac people have three tribes that the United States government officially recognizes. These tribes are connected with the Meskwaki (Fox) people. They live in the states of Iowa, Oklahoma, and Kansas.

- Sac and Fox Nation of Missouri in Kansas and Nebraska: This tribe is located in the northeastern part of Kansas and southeastern Nebraska.
