Discovering Scallorn

Scallorn is an unincorporated community found in Mills County, Texas. It sits right next to a railway line owned by BNSF Railway. You can also find it near U.S. Route 183, which is a major road.

The Beginning of Scallorn

Scallorn was founded in 1888. It grew up along a railway line that was then called the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railway. The community got its name from a man named Gid Scallorn. He was the foreman, or manager, of a large ranch nearby.
