What is School of Roars About?
The show follows five little monsters: Wufflebump, Meepa, Icklewoo, Yummble, and Wingston. They attend the School of Roars at night. Here, they learn how to handle everyday problems. Five bigger, friendly monsters teach them. These teachers are Miss Grizzlesniff, Mr. Marrow, Mrs. Twirlyhorn, Miss Sneezle, and Mr. Snapper.
Meet the Monster Characters
Main Monster Students
- Wufflebump (voiced by Che Grant) is a 5-year-old purple monster. He looks like a rhinoceros and lives in a volcano. Wufflebump is the leader of the young monsters. He can be a bit clumsy and sometimes trips over his own tail!
- Icklewoo (voiced by Rosie Cooper-Kelly) is a 3-year-old yellow monster. She looks like a goat and lives in a flower windmill. Icklewoo is a bit shy. She doesn't roar as loudly as the other monsters.
- Yummble (voiced by Max Pattison) is a 5-year-old orange monster. He has three eyes and three legs. Yummble lives in a giant mushroom and absolutely loves to eat! He's Wufflebump's best friend. Because he loves food so much, he sometimes struggles to keep from eating snacks at the wrong time. He has super stretchy arms and can sing perfectly in tune, unlike the other students.
- Meepa (voiced by Ellie Gee) is a 4-year-old green alien monster. She lives in a tree flat and has four hands. Meepa loves to say her name twice ("Meepa! Meepa!") and talks a lot! She also loves monster animals. Meepa is the most flexible monster at the school.
- Wingston Waftywing (voiced by Ben Guiver) is a 4-year-old blue monster. He looks like a bat and lives in a castle. Wingston is the smartest monster in the school. He's also the fastest, thanks to his wings and lots of energy.
Main Monster Teachers
- Miss Grizzlesniff (voiced by Kathy Burke) is a pink-red monster. She looks like a tyrannosaurus rex. Miss Grizzlesniff is the main teacher at the School of Roars. Her favorite saying is "Oh, my claws!" She's a very unique and fun teacher.
- Miss Sneezle (voiced by Jess Robinson) is the school nurse. Her room is special, with comfy pillows for students who need a rest. Her bandage bats can sing lullabies, which most monsters enjoy. Students also get lollipops for being brave!
- Miss Twirlyhorn (voiced by Sarah Lancashire) is the head monster of the School of Roars. She's in charge!
- Mr Marrow (voiced by Andrew Scott) is the chef. He works in the school's café. Sometimes, like in the episode Get Well Soon, he even fills in as a substitute teacher.
- Mr Snapper (voiced by Andrew Scott) is a photographer. He looks like a crocodile. Mr. Snapper doesn't work at the school full-time. He visits when they need someone to take pictures.
- Mr. Bogglelots (voiced by Andrew Scott) is the school's eye doctor, or optician. He has more eyes than any other character!
Other Monster Family Members
- Mrs. Wufflebump (voiced by Jess Robinson) is Wufflebump's mother.
- Mr. Wufflebump (voiced by Alan Robinson) is Wufflebump's father.
- Growlbert (vocal effects by Alan Robinson) is Wufflebump's pet monster dog.
- Mr. Yummble (voiced by Andrew Scott) is Yummble's father.
- Yummble's baby brother and Yummble's baby sister are also part of the family.
- Meepa's mummy and Meepa's daddy are her parents.
- Icklewoo's mummy and Icklewoo's daddy are her parents.
- Mr. Waftywing (voiced by Andrew Scott) is Wingston's father. He works as a mailman monster.
- Granny Waftywing is Wingston's grandmother.
