Scouse the Mouse is a fun children's album that came out in the UK in 1977. It features the voice of Ringo Starr, who was the drummer for The Beatles, along with other talented singers.
The Story of Scouse the Mouse
The album tells the story of a brave mouse named Scouse. Ringo Starr plays the voice of Scouse. Scouse decides to leave his home in Liverpool, England, and travel all the way to the United States.

Other characters in the story include Bonce the Mouse, played by Adam Faith, and Molly Jolly, played by Barbara Dickson. The whole album was written, directed, and narrated by Donald Pleasence. Most of the songs were created by Roger Brown.
Ringo Starr recorded his songs for the album, like "I Know a Place" and "Scouse the Mouse," in July 1977. These recordings happened at Berwick Street Studios with producer Hugh Murphy.
Album Release and TV Plans
When Scouse the Mouse was finished, there were plans to make an animated TV show based on the story. This show was supposed to air on ITV in the UK. However, the TV show was delayed because of a strike and eventually never aired.
The album Scouse the Mouse was released on 9 December 1977 in the UK by Polydor Records. This was the last album Ringo Starr made as part of a three-album deal with Polydor. The album was not released in the United States.
