Seabee Museum and Memorial Park facts for kids

The Seabee Museum and Memorial Park is a special place in Davisville, Rhode Island. It's a non-profit museum dedicated to the amazing history of the Seabees of the U.S. Navy. The Seabees are a group of brave people who build things for the Navy.
This museum is located at Quonset Point, which was a very important United States Navy base during World War II. It was home to the Naval Air Station Quonset Point and was also where the famous Quonset Hut was invented. In the 1990s, a group of former Seabees and their friends decided to build this museum themselves. It's a non-profit museum that covers about 6.5 acres (2.6 hectares).
What Can You See at the Seabee Museum?
The museum has many interesting things to explore. It includes an old Navy concrete chapel, which is a type of church building. There are also seven old Quonset huts that were saved from a nearby Navy base called Camp Endicott when it was taken down.
The Original Seabee Statue
You can also see the original Gate Seabee statue at the museum. This statue is a symbol of the Seabees and their hard work. It shows a Seabee ready for action.
Quonset Air Museum
Right next to the Seabee Museum, you'll find the Quonset Air Museum. This museum is also non-profit and is located in buildings that were originally part of the Naval Air Station Quonset Point. It's a great place to learn about airplanes and the history of flight.
