Sean Burrell grew up in Zachary, Louisiana. He is a talented track and field athlete. He competes for the LSU Tigers team in college.
In 2021, Sean achieved something amazing. He won the 400m hurdles event. This happened at the 2021 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships. This big competition took place in Eugene, Oregon.
His winning time was 47.85 seconds. This incredible speed made him the junior world record holder for the 400m hurdles. He broke a record that had stood since 1984! That record was set by Danny Harris.
Sean's time was also one of the fastest in the world that year. It was the fourth fastest time recorded by anyone globally at that moment. By the end of 2021, it was the seventh fastest time overall.

Sean comes from a family of runners. His father, Keltrin Burrell Sr., and his mother, Jacqueline Burrell, both ran in high school. Sean's brother, Jon Burrell, also competed in sports. He threw the javelin for Zachary High School and Louisiana Tech University.
