The album Sebastian From The Little Mermaid is the first of three music albums inspired by Disney's popular movie, The Little Mermaid. It's also known as Disney's Sebastian. This album features many songs that are cover versions. This means they are new recordings of older, famous songs. Most of the songs are calypso or reggae tunes.
All the songs are sung by Samuel E. Wright. He is the voice of Sebastian the crab from the movie. But there are two special songs, "Dancing Mood" and "Dance the Day Away," sung by Jodi Benson. She is the voice of Ariel! Ariel also sings with Sebastian on the song "Day-O."
You'll hear Flounder speaking at the start of some songs. He is voiced by Jason Marin. The album was recorded in Jamaica. A reggae band called Third World played the music and sang background vocals. The album's producer, Don Mizell, is a Grammy winner. He wrote "Dancing Mood" and "Dance the Day Away."
