Selim Sahab (Arabic: سليم سحاب) is a famous conductor and composer. He was born in Palestine in 1941. Today, he is a citizen of Egypt.

Selim Sahab's Education and Early Career
Selim Sahab studied music for many years. In 1971, he earned a special degree in Choral Conducting. This means he learned how to lead groups of singers.
Studying in Moscow
Later, in 1976, he got another diploma. This time, it was for conducting a Symphony Orchestra from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. This is a very famous music school in Russia.
Returning to Lebanon
After his studies, Sahab returned to Lebanon in 1977. He started writing music reviews for newspapers and magazines. He also worked as a music supervisor for the official Lebanese radio station. In 1980, he created the Beirut Arab Music Ensemble in Lebanon.
