Selim Sahab's Musical Journey
His Musical Training
Selim Sahab studied music for many years. In 1971, he earned a special degree in leading choirs from the Institute of Jnesen. Later, in 1976, he got another diploma. This one was for leading big symphony orchestras, and he studied at the famous Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory.
Working in Lebanon
After his studies, Selim Sahab returned to Lebanon in 1977. He wrote music reviews for newspapers and magazines. He also worked as a music supervisor for the official Lebanese radio station. In 1980, he started the Beirut Arab Music Ensemble in Lebanon. This group focused on Arabic music.
Leading Opera Masr
Today, Selim Sahab is the head of 'Opera Masr'. He has also been given the special title of 'Good Will Ambassador'. This means he helps promote good things and understanding through music.
