Selma Reis (born August 24, 1960 – died December 19, 2015) was a talented Brazilian actress and singer. She was born in São Gonçalo, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Selma became well-known for her roles in many Brazilian TV shows called telenovelas and miniseries on the Rede Globo network. Some of her famous shows included Caminho das Índias, Páginas da Vida, Presença de Anita, and Chiquinha Gonzaga. After 1987, she also started a successful music career, releasing eleven albums.

Selma Reis was married to photographer Locca Faria, and they had a son together. Even after they separated, they remained good friends during the last three years of her life.
In July 2014, Selma was diagnosed with a serious illness. She passed away at a hospital in Teresópolis, Brazil, when she was 55 years old. Her funeral service followed the Lutheran faith and she was cremated in Nova Friburgo.
