The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is a super cool hotel and casino resort located near Hollywood, Florida, in the United States. It's often called The Guitar Hotel because its main building looks exactly like two guitars standing back-to-back!
This amazing place sits on a large area of land (about 100 acres) that belongs to the Seminole Tribe of Florida. It has a big hotel, a casino, a huge poker room, and a fun pool area that's like a lagoon. You can also find many restaurants, shops, a spa, and places for shows and events here. A big new part of the resort was finished in October 2019, making it even more exciting!
The Hotels
The resort has a 12-story hotel building with 469 rooms and fancy suites. When you arrive, you'll see a giant 50-foot tall guitar at the entrance, just like a famous Gibson electric guitar! There's also a huge LED screen that shows ads at the front of the main parking area. The resort has lots of space for meetings and events, including a big exhibit hall.
A massive project costing $1.5 billion added even more to the Hard Rock. They built a 450-foot tall tower that looks like two guitars. Lights on the building make it seem like there are guitar strings! This new tower has 638 rooms. There's also a seven-story "Oasis Tower" with 168 rooms, which looks out over the pool area. All these new parts opened on October 24, 2019.
The expansion also brought a 42,000 square foot "Rock Spa" where you can relax, and more than 20 new places to eat and enjoy the nightlife. With all the new buildings, the resort had over 1,200 hotel rooms ready by October 2019!
In 2014, the Seminole Tribe announced a big upgrade for their casinos, and a lot of money was spent on the Hard Rock Hollywood. This included making the entrances better, adding a new bar in the middle of the pool, improving the pool area, updating the hotel rooms, and adding a new restaurant. By 2019, the tribe's upgrade plans grew even bigger, with billions of dollars being spent on this location and another Hard Rock casino in Tampa.
The Casino
The casino area is very large, covering over 140,000 square feet. It has many different games like slot machines and various table games. You can play games such as blackjack, baccarat, Pai Gow poker, Let It Ride, and three card poker. While they don't have live craps or roulette tables, you can play electronic versions of these games. The poker room, where people play card games like Texas Hold'em, moved to a new spot in 2018 because of all the construction.
Blackjack is a very popular card game in the United States. The Seminole Tribe was given permission to offer blackjack in their casinos. This helped the Hard Rock casinos in Hollywood and Tampa become known as major places for gambling and entertainment.
Entertainment
Hard Rock Live
Hard Rock Live is a huge theater that can hold 7,000 people. It opened on October 25, 2019, with a concert by the band Maroon 5. This new theater replaced an older one that was torn down to make way for the expansion. The old theater hosted many different events, including concerts by famous musicians like Billy Joel, comedians, and boxing matches. While the new theater was being built, events were held in a temporary place called the Hard Rock Event Center, where stars like Britney Spears performed.
Miss Universe 2020
The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino was chosen to host the 69th Miss Universe competition! This big event happened on May 16, 2021. At the end of the show, Zozibini Tunzi from South Africa crowned Andrea Meza from Mexico as the new Miss Universe. It was a very exciting night for the resort!
