Sergio Fernández Roda (born on April 1, 1993) is a Spanish athlete. He competes in track and field events, especially the 400 metres hurdles. This is a race where runners jump over barriers called hurdles.
Sergio became well-known when he won a silver medal at the 2016 European Athletics Championships in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Later that same year, he ran for Spain at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He set a new national record for Spain in the semifinals, but just missed out on reaching the final race.
Before these big events, Sergio also represented his country in other important competitions. These included the 2012 World Junior Championships in Athletics, the 2014 European Athletics Championships, and the 2015 European Athletics U23 Championships.
