Seton Sands with Edinburgh in the distance

Seton Sands is a lovely rocky beach located on the east coast of Scotland. You can find it in East Lothian, just east of a town called Port Seton. It's a special spot because it marks the western end of a beautiful coastal area known as Longniddry Bents. It's also part of the famous John Muir Way, a long walking trail that explores Scotland's stunning landscapes.

Exploring Seton Sands Beach

When the tide goes out at Seton Sands, it reveals a fascinating world of tiny pools, called rock pools. These pools are full of small sea creatures and plants, making them perfect for exploring! Beyond the rock pools, the beach turns into a wide, flat sandy area that stretches out about 200 yards (about 180 meters) towards the Firth of Forth, which is a large sea inlet.

Fun at the Holiday Park

Right next to the beach, you'll find the Seton Sands Holiday Park. This is a very popular place for families to visit, especially during the summer months. Many visitors come from the west coast of Scotland and the north of England to enjoy their holidays here. It's a great spot for a family getaway with lots of activities.

Discovering Seton Chapel

At the western edge of the holiday park, there's a public path that leads to a historic building. This building is officially known as Seton Collegiate Church, but local people often call it Seton Chapel. It's a very old and interesting place managed by Historic Scotland, which looks after many important historical sites.

Getting to Seton Sands

If you want to visit Seton Sands, it's easy to get there by bus! A regular bus service, the Lothian Buses no. 26, travels all the way from Edinburgh and ends its journey right at Seton Sands. This makes it simple for people to come and enjoy the beach and all the nearby attractions.
