Seán grew up in a small village called Caherlistrane in County Galway, Ireland. He came from a family full of musicians. His sister, Dolores Keane, is also a well-known singer. From a young age, Seán showed great talent. He even won a first prize at the Connacht Fleadh for singing in English. A "Fleadh" is a big Irish music festival and competition.
