Sgt. Frog, known in Japan as Sergeant Keroro (Keroro Gunso), is a fun manga (Japanese comic book) series. It also became a popular anime (Japanese animated show). The story is about a group of alien frogs from the planet Keron who want to take over Earth, which they call "Pokopen".

The main character is Keroro, a frog who is supposed to lead the invasion. He often says "de arimasu" or "sir yes sir!" and is black with a yellow-and-orange mark. Keroro is friends with a human boy named Fuyuki.

The Keroro Platoon

Keroro is the leader of a small group of alien frogs called the Keroro Platoon. His friends in the platoon are:

• Giroro: A serious and tough frog who loves weapons.
• Tamama: A cute and innocent frog who is very loyal to Keroro.
• Kururu: A super smart but sneaky frog who loves to invent gadgets.
• Dororo: A ninja frog who is often forgotten by the others.
• Pururu: A nurse frog who sometimes visits the platoon.

The Hinata Family

Keroro and his platoon end up living with a human family called the Hinatas.

• Fuyuki Hinata: A kind and curious boy who loves strange things. He becomes good friends with Keroro.
• Natsumi Hinata: Fuyuki's older sister. She is very athletic and often gets annoyed by the frogs' silly plans.
• Aki Hinata: Fuyuki and Natsumi's mother. She is a busy manga editor and is surprisingly calm about having aliens living in her house.

Other Friends

Fuyuki and Natsumi have other friends who get involved in the adventures:

• Momoka Nishizawa: A very rich girl who has a crush on Fuyuki. She has a secret tough side.
• Koyuki Azumaya: A ninja girl who is friends with Natsumi and Dororo.
• Angol Mois: An alien girl who is very powerful and considers herself Keroro's "daughter."

The Story of Sgt. Frog

The main idea of Sgt. Frog is that Keroro and his team are supposed to invade Earth, but they are not very good at it. Instead, they often end up doing chores, playing games, or getting into funny situations with the Hinata family. The series is known for its humor and how it makes fun of other science fiction stories.

The characters grow up during the series. For example, Fuyuki and his friends start as younger kids and get a bit older as the story goes on.

Voice Actors

In the English version of the anime, different actors give voices to the characters. For example, Natsumi Hinata was voiced by Alexandra Levitch in the Animax dub.
