Shōō (Kamakura period) facts for kids
Shōō (also spelled Shō-ō) was a special name used for a period of time in Japanese history. Think of it like how we have years, but in Japan, they also used these era names. This period came after an era called Kōan and before Einin.
The Shōō era began in April 1288 and finished in August 1293. During these years, the emperor of Japan was known as Emperor Fushimi.
