Shacklett is a small, unincorporated community located in Cheatham County, in the U.S. state of Tennessee. An unincorporated community means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town.
The History of Shacklett
Shacklett had its own post office starting in 1897. This post office helped people send and receive mail for a few years, but it closed down in 1904.
The community got its name from a doctor named Henry Rector Shacklett. He was a local physician who lived nearby in the late 1800s.
