What is Shadow Forest About?
Samuel and Martha's New Life
The story follows Samuel Blink, a 12-year-old boy from England. He lives with his ten-year-old sister, Martha, and their parents. One day, a sad accident happens while they are traveling. This event changes their lives forever.
Soon after, Samuel and Martha receive a letter. It is from their Aunt Eda in Norway. The letter says they will be moving to Norway to live with her.
Arriving in Norway
When they arrive in Norway, Samuel is not very happy with their new home. It is right next to a mysterious place called the 'Shadow Forest'. Samuel feels like he has been there before.
One evening, Aunt Eda tells Samuel a secret about the forest. Their Uncle Henrik went into the Shadow Forest ten years ago. He never came back.
Discovering the Forest's Secrets
Later, Samuel explores his aunt's attic. He finds a special book there. It is called Creatures of Shadow Forest. This book describes many strange beings.
Soon after, Martha disappears! Samuel realizes she must have gone into the forest. He knows he has to find her.
The Search and the Change Maker
Samuel bravely enters the Shadow Forest to look for Martha. Inside, he meets many of the creatures from his new book. He eventually finds Martha and their family dog.
They learn that a powerful and evil creature called the 'Change Maker' has put a curse on them. Samuel and Martha must battle this villain. They work together and finally defeat the Change Maker.
After the battle, they discover a big surprise. Their dog was actually their Uncle Henrik, changed by the curse! The family is finally reunited. They continue to live together in Norway.
