Shaira Ana Teresiana Luna was born on September 20, 1986. She is a talented Filipina photographer. When she was a child, many people knew her as a "gifted child" and a "Promil kid." This was because she appeared in a TV ad for a baby formula called Promil in 1995. The ad showed how smart and special she was at a very young age.

Shaira Luna's Early Life and Amazing Talents
Shaira Luna was born in Malate, Manila, Philippines. Her parents were Bong and Jenny Luna. From a very young age, Shaira showed incredible abilities.
How Shaira's Talents Appeared
When Shaira was only six months old, she could already speak very well. By the time she was one year old, she could read and write the alphabet. At age two, she knew a lot about different science topics. She also played many musical instruments, like the piano and the violin. Besides speaking English, she was interested in learning French and Spanish.
Discovering Her High IQ
Because of her amazing skills, Shaira's parents asked for help from experts. Someone from the Department of Education found that Shaira had the same IQ as a sixth grader. This was like a high-school student's IQ. Her mother, Jenny Luna, thought Shaira's intelligence might come from her family. Many people in her family had done very well in school.
Starting School Early
Experts suggested that Shaira attend a sixth-grade class at the Philippine Christian University (PCU). They thought she would get bored in a kindergarten class. Going to PCU also helped her improve her social skills. She used to be a bit shy and quiet.
College Experience
When Shaira was 13 years old, she started college at De La Salle University. She first studied human biology. She tried different subjects but decided to leave college in 2006.
Shaira Luna's Journey to Photography
While she was a student at De La Salle University, Shaira bought her first digital single-lens reflex camera. It was a Canon EOS 350D. She started taking pictures as a hobby.
Learning Photography on Her Own
For about six months, Shaira took pictures of everything. She tried taking photos of people, food, and events. She photographed birthdays, Christenings, and even basketball games. Sometimes, she even took pictures at funerals. She said that photography was just a hobby during college. Her career grew slowly and naturally. She tried many types of photography before realizing she could do it for a living. Shaira learned photography mostly by herself. She is a "self-taught" photographer.
