Early Life and Learning
Shaista Lodhi was born in Karachi, a big city in Pakistan. Her parents are Ali Gohar Lodhi and Roshan Taj Lodhi. She grew up with three brothers: Amir, Tahir, and Sahir Lodhi. In the year 2000, she finished her medical studies. She earned her MBBS degree from Jinnah Sindh Medical University.
Her TV Career
Shaista began her career in 2001 as a VJ, which is like a video jockey. Soon after, she started hosting shows on a private TV channel. She became famous for hosting the morning show Good Morning Pakistan on ARY Digital.
In late 2010, she moved to Geo TV and hosted another morning show called Utho Jago Pakistan. This show was later stopped in May 2014. After this, Shaista left Pakistan for a while.
Returning to Television
Shaista moved to South Africa with her three children. She came back to Pakistan in 2015. She then started hosting morning shows again. She hosted Sitare Ki Subah on Hum Sitaray. She also hosted Mehmaan Nawaz on SEE TV.
Later, she returned to Geo TV and hosted Geo Subah Pakistan. This show started on January 30, 2017. In 2020, Shaista was a team captain for the Peshawar Stallions. This was part of the Jeeto Pakistan League during the special Ramadan shows.
In October 2021, she announced that she would host a morning show on PTV Home. She took over from Nadia Khan. Her new show, Morning at Home, started on November 15, 2021.
Her Family Life
Shaista Lodhi was first known as Shaista Wahidi. She married Waqar Wahidi in 1999. They later separated in 2012. She has three children from her first marriage.
She married again in June 2015. Her second husband is Adnan Lodhi. He is the first Pakistani art auctioneer in South Africa. Shaista's brother, Sahir Lodhi, also works in the TV industry.
