Shana Woods was born on July 7, 1988, in Bellflower, California. She is an amazing American track and field athlete. Shana is known for being very good at many different sports events.
She holds a special record for high school athletes in the heptathlon. This is a tough competition where athletes do seven different events. Shana set this record while she was a student at Long Beach Polytechnic High School.

Shana Woods: A Star Athlete
Shana Woods showed her talent early on. She was great at many track and field events. These include running, jumping, and throwing.
High School Records
While still in high school, Shana helped her team set several national records. She was part of relay teams that broke records in the 4 × 400 meters relay and the 4 × 200 meters relay. These records still stand today! The indoor 4 × 400 meters relay record is also a U.S. Junior record.
Winning Championships
In 2004, when Shana was a sophomore, she won the individual Long Jump at the CIF California State Meet. She also helped her team win the State Championship. Her efforts earned her team 32 points, which is a lot!
As a senior in 2006, Shana continued to shine. She won the 100 meters hurdles and 300 meters hurdles. She also helped her school's relay teams win three races at the Arcadia Invitational.
International Competitions
After setting her heptathlon record in 2006, Shana was chosen to represent the USA. She competed in the 2006 World Junior Championships in Athletics. The next year, she went to the 2007 Pan American Junior Athletics Championships. There, she won a silver medal for her country.
After high school, Shana went to the University of Southern California. She studied Political Science there.
