Shane Aaron Cameron (born 17 October 1977) is a New Zealand professional boxer. He was a champion in the cruiserweight division. He also held several titles in the heavyweight division.
As an amateur boxer, he won a bronze medal. This was in the heavyweight division at the 2002 Commonwealth Games. Outside of boxing, he appeared on Dancing With the Stars New Zealand in 2015.

Shane Cameron's Amateur Boxing Career
Shane Cameron won the New Zealand heavyweight title in 2001. He beat Adam Forsyth for this championship. He then competed in the 2002 Commonwealth Games. He won a bronze medal in the 91 kg heavyweight category. He finished his amateur career with 40 wins and 8 losses.
Shane Cameron's Professional Boxing Journey
Shane Cameron started his professional boxing career on 28 November 2002. He won his first fight by knockout in the third round. This fight took place in Auckland, New Zealand.
Winning New Zealand and International Titles
On 4 December 2004, Shane won the New Zealand Heavyweight title. He later gave up this title to focus on bigger international championships.
In July 2006, he won two more titles. He became the WBA Pan African Heavyweight champion. He also won the IBF Pan Pacific title. At this time, he was ranked 14th in the world by the IBF.
In December 2006, Shane won his 17th professional fight in a row. He kept his WBA Pan African heavyweight title.
Big Fights and Challenges
On 7 March 2007, Shane fought Australian boxer Bob Mirovic. Shane broke his right hand in the first round. He also had cuts above both eyes. Despite this, he knocked Mirovic out in the eighth round. He kept his WBA Pan African title.
Later in 2007, Shane won another title. He defeated Jucimar Hipolito to win the WBO Asia Pacific Heavyweight title.
First Professional Loss
On 2 November 2007, Shane had his first professional loss. He was defeated by Friday Ahunanya. Shane lost in the 12th round. Cuts to his eyes made it hard for him to see. He lost all the titles he had held.
Bouncing Back and More Titles
On 11 April 2008, Shane fought Jonathan Haggler. Shane knocked Haggler out in the eighth round. This win earned him the WBO Oriental, WBO Asia-Pacific, and IBF Pan-Pacific belts.
He then defended his titles against Kevin Montiy in June 2008. Shane won by TKO in the fifth round. He said this was one of his best performances.
The "Fight of The Century"
A very anticipated fight happened on 3 October 2009. Shane Cameron fought fellow New Zealander David Tua. Promoters called it "The Fight of The Century." Both boxers were guaranteed a large amount of money.
David Tua knocked Shane down twice in the first round. In the second round, Tua quickly attacked Shane. The referee stopped the fight after only 7 seconds. Shane lost his WBO Asia-Pacific and WBO Oriental heavyweight titles.
Moving to Cruiserweight
After the Tua fight, Shane continued his career. He won several fights, including against John Hopoate. On 20 July 2011, Shane fought Dominic Vea. He knocked Vea out in the 12th round. This made Shane the new Commonwealth cruiserweight champion.
In July 2012, Shane fought Monte Barrett. He won by knockout in the fourth round. This win helped him get a chance to fight for the IBO Cruiserweight title. He fought Danny Green for this title on 21 November 2012. Shane lost the fight by a points decision.
