Sharon Day is a former United States Ambassador to Costa Rica. This means she used to represent the U.S. in Costa Rica. She also helped lead the Republican Party as a co-chairwoman. She left her ambassador role on January 19, 2021.
Sharon Day's Career
Sharon Day once owned an insurance company. She ran this business in Indianapolis with her husband. They sold the company in the early 1990s. After selling it, they moved to South Florida.
Day has been involved in the Republican Party for many years. She has served on different committees. These roles were at local, state, and national levels. She started as a precinct committeeman in 1994. This role helps organize local party activities.
Later, in 1996, she became a state Republican committeeman for Broward County. By 2004, she represented Florida at the national level. In 2009, she became the national party secretary. She also served as the national party co-chair from 2011. She was re-elected to this position in 2015.
Personal Life
Sharon Day lived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She has always been a member of the Republican Party. She was married to Larry Day. They had two children together. Larry Day passed away in 2012.
