Sharon Louise Finnan-White OAM (born 7 September 1967) is a famous former Australian netball player. She is known for winning the INF Netball World Cup twice with the Australian national team.

Sharon Finnan-White was born in Surry Hills, New South Wales, a suburb in Sydney. She grew up to become one of Australia's top netball players.

Early Career and Training

Sharon started playing netball at a young age. She played for the New South Wales Under-21 team. Later, she joined the New South Wales Open team from 1988 to 1997.

In 1988, Sharon was invited to join the Australian Institute of Sport. This is a special place where talented athletes train. It helped her improve her skills even more.

Playing for Australia

Sharon's hard work paid off when she was chosen to play for the Australian national netball team. Her first big international event was the 1990 Commonwealth Games.

She played for Australia from 1990 until she retired from netball in 2000. During her time with the national team, she helped them win two Netball World Cups. These wins happened in 1991 and 1999.

Awards and Recognition

Sharon Finnan-White has received special awards for her achievements. In 1992, she was given the Medal of the Order of Australia. This award recognizes people who have done great things for Australia.
