Shaunette Renée Wilson (born January 19, 1990) is an American actress. She is well-known for playing Dr. Mina Okafor in the TV show The Resident from 2018 to 2021.
Shaunette has also appeared in other popular shows and movies. These include Billions (2017), the superhero movie Black Panther (2018), and the adventure film Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023).
Early Life and Education
Shaunette Renée Wilson was born in Guyana, a country in South America. When she was two years old, her family moved to New York, where she grew up. Her parents are Deberah and Wesley Wilson. She has three siblings: a brother named Andre and two sisters named Serena and Synique.
Shaunette went to college to study acting. She earned her first degree, a Bachelor of Arts (BA), in Drama and Theater from Queens College. Later, she continued her studies at the Yale School of Drama. There, she earned her Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in 2016. While at Yale, she acted in several plays, including Cardboard Piano and The Seagull.
