Shaw Park is a large and popular park located in Clayton, Missouri. It covers about 30 acres, which is like 30 football fields! This park is bordered by Forsyth Boulevard and Forest Park Parkway on its north and south sides. To the west and east, you'll find Interstate 170 and Forsyth Boulevard. The Story of Shaw Park
Shaw Park was created in 1935 by a person named Charles A. Shaw, who was the Mayor of Clayton at the time. The park was officially opened and dedicated in 1937. Building the park cost about $280,000. Most of this money came from the federal government, while the city of Clayton contributed $30,000. The park is located near the St. Louis County District Courthouse and right next to Clayton High School.
