Shawnee is a historic place in Shannon County, Missouri, in the Ozarks region of the United States. It was once a small, unincorporated community. This means it was a group of homes and buildings that did not have its own local government. Shawnee was located near Little Shawnee Creek, about two miles southeast of the town of Eminence. It sat at an elevation of 825 feet above sea level. You can find its old location along County Road 507, between Missouri Route 106 and Missouri Route H.

The community of Shawnee had a post office that opened in 1889. A post office is where people send and receive mail. This post office served the local residents for many years. It closed down in 1920. The name "Shawnee" comes from the Shawnee Indians. These Native American people lived in parts of the eastern United States, including areas that are now Missouri.
