Shaylee Bent (born 13 September 2000) is a talented Australian rugby league player. She plays as a second-rower or centre for the Gold Coast Titans Women in the NRL Women's Premiership. Shaylee also plays for the Wynnum Manly Seagulls in the QRL Women's Premiership.

She is a proud representative player for New South Wales, the Indigenous All Stars, and the Australian national team.

Early Life and Background

Shaylee Bent was born in Penrith, New South Wales, Australia. Her heritage is a mix of Indigenous Australian and Greek. When she was 15 years old, Shaylee started playing rugby league. Her first team was the Glenmore Park Brumbies.

Starting Her Rugby Journey

Shaylee began her junior career playing in the Tarsha Gale Cup. In 2017, she played for the Parramatta Eels Women. The next year, 2018, she joined the Wests Tigers Tarsha Gale Cup team.

After playing in the Tarsha Gale Cup, Shaylee moved to the Mounties team. She played in the NSWRL Women's Premiership. She even started as a centre in their Grand Final win, where they beat South Sydney 12–10.

Shaylee's Professional Career

Joining the NRLW: St George Illawarra Dragons

In 2019, Shaylee returned to Mounties. She played in their Grand Final loss to CRL Newcastle. Later that year, she was the 18th player for the New South Wales side.

Shaylee made her big debut in the NRL Women's Premiership in 2019. She played for the St George Illawarra Dragons. She also played in the 2019 Grand Final for the Dragons. Later that year, she represented Australia in the 2019 Rugby League World Cup 9s.

Key Moments with the Dragons (2020-2022)

In 2020, Shaylee played for the Indigenous All Stars. They won against the Maori All Stars. She also played for the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the NSWRL Women's Premiership.

Shaylee was named the Dragons' NRLW Player of the Year in 2020. She also made her State of Origin debut for New South Wales.

In 2021, Shaylee joined the Tweed Heads Seagulls in the QRL Women's Premiership. She continued to represent the Indigenous All Stars.
