Sheila Wills (born August 11, 1947) is an American actress who is also known by the name Sheila DeWindt. She is famous for her role in the TV show B. J. and the Bear. She also had important parts in other series like Days of Our Lives, Battlestar Galactica, and Generations.
From College to Hollywood
Sheila Wills was born in Louisiana and grew up in Los Angeles, California. She was a hard worker from a young age. In an interview, she said, "I've had a job since I was 11." She believed this helped her achieve her goals.
After high school, Wills graduated from Occidental College. She even worked there as an assistant dean of admissions, helping new students join the college. However, she always dreamed of being an actress. In 1975, she attended an acting workshop and soon decided to leave her job in education to follow her dream.
A Career on Screen
Before getting her big break as Angie on B.J. and the Bear, Wills appeared in many popular TV shows. She had guest roles on Baretta, Kojak, Quincy, and The Six Million Dollar Man.
Her acting career continued for many years. She later appeared in shows like The Jeffersons and The A-Team. Besides television, Wills also worked as a model and acted in movies. Some of her films include Goldengirl and The Concorde... Airport '79.
Personal Life
The acting workshop Wills joined in 1975 was led by Hal DeWindt, a producer, director, and actor. Two years later, in 1977, they were married. They divorced in 1981. After her divorce, she began a relationship with actor Philip Michael Thomas. Together, they had two daughters, Melody and India.
