Sheldon Mac (born Sheldon Reeves McClellan on December 21, 1992) is an American professional basketball player. He has played for many teams around the world. He last played for the San Miguel Beermen in the Philippines. Before becoming a pro, he played college basketball for the Texas Longhorns and the Miami Hurricanes.

High School Basketball Days
Sheldon Mac went to Bellaire High School. His coach was Bruce Glover. In his final year, he was a star player. He scored about 25.6 points per game. He also grabbed 7.2 rebounds and made 5.0 assists. His team finished with a good record of 20 wins and 9 losses. They even made it to the first round of the state playoffs.
College Basketball Journey
Sheldon started his college basketball career at the University of Texas.
Playing for Texas
As a freshman, he quickly showed his skills. He averaged 11.2 points in each game. In his second year, his scoring improved to 13.2 points per game. After two seasons with Texas, he decided to transfer to another university.
Time with Miami Hurricanes
Sheldon then joined the Miami Hurricanes. After sitting out a year due to transfer rules, he played his junior season. He averaged 14.5 points and 4.7 rebounds. He was recognized as an Honorable Mention All-ACC player. This means he was one of the top players in his conference.
In his senior year, he played even better. He averaged 16.3 points per game. On March 6, 2016, he was named to the Second-Team All-ACC. This was a big honor for him.
Professional Basketball Career
After college, Sheldon Mac began his professional journey. He played for teams in the NBA, the NBA G League, and other countries.
Washington Wizards (2016–2018)
Sheldon was not chosen in the 2016 NBA draft. However, the Washington Wizards signed him on September 23, 2016. He played his first NBA game on October 27, 2016. He scored seven points in that game. On November 12, 2016, he started his first NBA game. He scored a season-high 15 points.
During his time with the Wizards, he also played for their minor league team. This team was the Delaware 87ers in the NBA Development League. He was sent back and forth between the Wizards and the 87ers. In October 2017, Sheldon got a serious leg injury. He did not play any games for the Wizards in the 2017–18 season. He was later traded to the Atlanta Hawks and then released.
NBA G League and International Play
After his time with the Wizards, Sheldon continued his career. He played for several teams in the NBA G League. This league helps players develop their skills.
Canton Charge (2019–2021)
For the 2019–20 season, Mac joined the Canton Charge. On January 4, 2020, he had an amazing game. He scored 39 points, grabbed five rebounds, and made five assists. The Cleveland Cavaliers tried to sign him to a short contract. However, the season was stopped due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He re-signed with the Charge for the next season. He averaged 17.9 points per game.
Playing Overseas
Sheldon also played basketball in other countries. In 2021, he played for ESSM Le Portel in France. Later that year, he joined BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque, also in France.
Return to G League (2022)
In 2022, he returned to the Cleveland Charge. Later, he was traded to the Stockton Kings.
Success in Puerto Rico and Venezuela (2022)
Sheldon then played in Puerto Rico for Atléticos de San Germán. He averaged 22.2 points per game. He then joined Gigantes de Carolina. He was the top scorer in the league that season.
He also played for Gladiadores de Anzoátegui in Venezuela. In July 2022, he helped his team win their first championship. He was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Grand Final. He averaged 14.6 points and shot very well.
Recent Teams (2023–2024)
Sheldon continued to play in Puerto Rico for the Osos de Manatí. In one game, he scored an incredible 60 points! He also played for the Santeros de Aguada. In 2024, he briefly played for the San Miguel Beermen in the Philippines.
