Shenton Way is a very important road in Singapore. It's located in the southern part of the city, right in the heart of Singapore's main business area. This special area is called the Central Business District, or CBD for short. Shenton Way, along with another area called Raffles Place, was one of the first parts of Singapore to become a big business hub.

This road is a one-way street, meaning traffic only goes in one direction. It starts where Cross Street, Central Boulevard, and Raffles Quay meet, and it ends at Keppel Road. Shenton Way was named after Sir Shenton Thomas. He was the Governor of Singapore from 1934 to 1946. The road was named in his honor because he chose to stay in the city during a difficult time when Japan occupied Singapore.

Shenton Way was officially opened in 1951. By the 1970s, it became known as Singapore's own version of Wall Street. This is because many big companies started building their offices and headquarters there, making it a center for finance and business.
