Sherry White is a talented Canadian writer, producer, director, and actress. She is well-known for creating and producing the TV show Pretty Hard Cases. She also wrote the movie Maudie in 2016.

Early Life and School
Sherry White grew up in Stephenville, Newfoundland and Labrador. She studied theatre at Memorial University of Newfoundland's Grenfell College. This campus is located in Corner Brook. Some of her classmates there became famous actors too, like Susan Kent and Jonny Harris.
Her Career in Film and TV
Sherry White has worked on many exciting projects in TV and film. She is a true multi-talent, working as a writer, producer, director, and actress.
As a Writer and Producer
Sherry started by making short films like Diamonds in the Bucket. Then, she wrote and directed her first full movie, Crackie. This film was shown at a big festival in Toronto.
She gained a lot of experience writing and producing for popular TV shows. These include the police drama Rookie Blue and the science fiction series Orphan Black. She also worked on The Catch and Little Dog. For Little Dog, she even earned two nominations from the Directors Guild of Canada.
In 2018, Sherry won a big award, the Canadian Screen Award, for writing the movie Maudie. This film starred famous actors Sally Hawkins and Ethan Hawke.
Sherry also helped create and produce the action-comedy series Pretty Hard Cases. This show is about two female police officers. She was a "showrunner" for the series, which means she helped manage the whole production. She also directed four episodes of the show.
As an Actress
Besides working behind the scenes, Sherry White has also acted in many plays, TV shows, and movies. In the mid-2000s, she was part of the comedy series Hatching, Matching and Dispatching. She played the character Myrna Furey-Meany. She later played this role again in a TV movie called A Christmas Fury in 2017.
