Shibleys Point got its name from the Shibley family. They were among the first settlers, often called pioneers, who came to live in this area. They arrived around the year 1840.
A Place for Mail: The Post Office
In 1855, a post office was opened in Shibley's Point. This was a very important place for people living there. It allowed them to send and receive letters and packages. The post office served the community for many years, until it closed in 1908.
