Shields Date Garden started in 1924. It was founded by Floyd and Bess Shields. Floyd Shields was one of the first people to grow dates in the Coachella Valley. He created new types of dates. These included special "Blonde" and "Brunette" dates. You can only find these unique dates at Shields Date Garden.
