Shigekazu Nakamura (中村 重和, born July 30, 1958) is a former Japanese football player and manager. He played as a defender during his career. After retiring as a player, he moved into coaching and managing football teams.

Shigekazu Nakamura's Playing Career

Shigekazu Nakamura was born in Shimabara, Japan. This was on July 30, 1958. After finishing his studies at Osaka University of Commerce, he started his professional football journey.

He joined the club Mazda in 1981. This team later became known as Sanfrecce Hiroshima. He played for them for a long time, from 1981 until 1991. As a defender, his job was to stop the opposing team from scoring goals.

Shigekazu Nakamura's Coaching Career

After he stopped playing football, Nakamura began a new path as a coach. He started his coaching career at Mazda in 1991. For many years, he mostly worked with the youth teams. This means he helped train and guide younger players.

In August 2002, he moved to a different club, Avispa Fukuoka. There, he became the manager of the team. A manager is like the head coach, making important decisions about the team's play. In 2003, he took on a new role as a general manager. This job involves overseeing the club's operations, not just coaching. He stayed with Avispa Fukuoka until 2007.
