Shigekazu Nakamura (中村 重和, Nakamura Shigekazu, born July 30, 1958) is a former Japanese football player and manager. He was born in Shimabara, Japan. Nakamura played as a defender for the Mazda team. After he stopped playing, he became a coach and later a manager for different football clubs.

Playing Football: Nakamura's Career

Shigekazu Nakamura was born on July 30, 1958. He grew up in Shimabara. After finishing his studies at Osaka University of Commerce, he started his professional football career.

Playing for Mazda

From 1981 to 1991, Nakamura played for a team called Mazda. This team later became known as Sanfrecce Hiroshima. He played as a defender, which is a player whose main job is to stop the other team from scoring goals. He spent ten years playing for this club.

Coaching and Managing Teams

After his time as a player, Nakamura decided to stay in football. He started a new career as a coach.

Starting as a Coach

Nakamura began coaching at the Mazda club in 1991. He mostly worked with the younger teams. He helped young players learn and improve their football skills. He continued coaching youth teams until August 2002.

Becoming a Manager

In August 2002, Nakamura moved to a different club called Avispa Fukuoka. Here, he took on a bigger role and became the team's manager. A manager is like the head coach who makes important decisions for the team. In 2003, he became the general manager for Avispa Fukuoka. This role involves overseeing the club's operations. He left the club in 2007.
