Shingo Kumabayashi (熊林 親吾, Kumabayashi Shingo, born June 23, 1981) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a Midfielder. After retiring from playing, he became a support coach for J2 League club Blaublitz Akita.

Shingo Kumabayashi's Football Journey

Shingo Kumabayashi was born in Asahikawa, Hokkaido on June 23, 1981. He grew up in Akita, Akita. After finishing high school, he started his professional football career.

Early Career and First Teams

In 2000, Shingo joined Júbilo Iwata, a team in the top Japanese league, J1 League. However, it was hard for him to play often. This was because the team had many famous players, including members of the Japan national football team.

In June 2002, he moved to Shonan Bellmare, a team in the J2 League. Here, he quickly became a regular player. He played as a defensive midfielder, helping to protect his team's goal. He played many matches for Shonan Bellmare until 2003. In 2004, he played less often.

Moving to New Clubs

In 2005, Shingo moved back to a J1 League team, Yokohama F. Marinos. But he did not get to play in any matches for them.

The next year, in 2006, he joined Vegalta Sendai, another J2 League club. He became a regular defensive midfielder again. However, his playing time decreased later in 2006. In July 2006, he moved to Tokushima Vortis, also in the J2 League. He played many games as a regular player there.

Years at Thespa Kusatsu

In 2008, Shingo joined Thespa Kusatsu, a J2 League team. He stayed with this club for five seasons, until 2012. During these years, he was a key player and appeared in many matches.

Return to Akita and Retirement

In 2013, Shingo moved to Blaublitz Akita. This team was special to him because it was based in his local area. At that time, Blaublitz Akita was in the Japan Football League. He continued to play as a regular player.

His team, Blaublitz Akita, achieved a great success. They were promoted to the new J3 League in 2014. Shingo Kumabayashi played for Blaublitz Akita until the end of the 2015 season. After that, he decided to retire from playing professional football.
