Shives (sometimes spelled Shrives) is a small place in Chicot County, Arkansas, United States. It is known as an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes or buildings that isn't officially part of a city or town. It doesn't have its own local government.
Where is Shives Located?
Shives is found in the southeastern part of Arkansas. It sits right on the southeast shore of Lake Chicot. This lake is the largest natural lake in Arkansas.
The community is also very close to the Mississippi River. It's only about 1 mile (1.6 kilometers) west of this famous river.
Getting Around Shives
A main road called U.S. Route 278 goes through Shives. This road helps people travel to and from the community.
If you are traveling west from the Greenville Bridge, Shives is the first community you will reach. The Greenville Bridge crosses the Mississippi River.
